Victorian Piqué 9ct Gold & Silver inlaid Heart Pendant
Victorian Piqué 9ct Gold & Silver inlaid Heart Pendant
Gorgeous Piqué Heart Pendant. Piqué was a popular type of jewellery technique during the Victorian era they are generally Tortoiseshell (like this one) with Gold and silver inlaid into it in intricate patterns. The middle of the heart has some floral details with the outer edges having a honey comb pattern to it. It isn’t perfect but it is so stunning and is a true slice of history. The bail on this is a base metal and is very large making it great to wear with any chain. It would be a perfect addition to anyone’s jewellery collection whether it’s for yourself or a gift for a loved one.
Did you know that Piqué originates from Italy.
Hallmarks- none
Weight- 5.50g
Measurements- 4.2cm long x 3.2cm Wide
This Heart pendant is in good but not perfect condition there are a few nibbles here and there to the tortoiseshell and some of the inlay is missing, to me it isn’t particularly noticeable and I would still happily wear this as a stunning antique piece. As with anything antique there maybe signs of wear.
