Victorian 9ct Rose Gold Mizpah Ring, 1864
Victorian 9ct Rose Gold Mizpah Ring, 1864
Gorgeous Mizpah Ring, dating to the Victorian Era, 1864. It is made from 9ct Rose Gold and Mizpah is written along the middle of the ring, with a texture background and decorative shoulders. It is a great everyday wear and a perfect addition to anyone’s jewellery collection. Great as a stacker ring.
Did you know Mizpah means “Watch Tower”, the Victorians loved to meaning to their jewellery and it is likely to have meant “God watches over you” or given as protection from a loved one. I love the idea now to buy this as a gift to a loved one who is maybe going travelling, moving away or going off to university as a sign that you’ll always be there.
Hallmarks- lovely crisp clear hallmarks. 9.375 for 9ct gold, an Anchor for assayed in Birmingham and a P for the year 1864.
Weight- 3.09g
Size- L.5 (UK) or 6 (US)
This ring is very worn especially on the side where the H is. It has obviously be very loved and worn with another ring. I personally do not think this takes away from the beauty of the ring and have happily worn it. It is 159 years old so wear is to be expected. It has also been resized as some point. It has been cleaned and polished.
