Sterling silver Banded Agate & Thistle shield padlock.

Colour and symbolism. I really think this is a very cool piece, I love that it’s basically two pieces in one. Orang/red banded agate on one side and a thistle on the other. It’s definitely a piece to represent Scotland. The thistle is the national flower of Scotland, symbolising their toughness and independence as a people. Banded agate is found across Scotland and is often used in their jewellery, especially during the Victorian era, though this piece is vintage not antique. The final very cool thing about his padlock is the shape, it’s not the traditional heart shape but a stunning shield shape is much harder to find. Padlocks are a great connector in general as they always add a lot of shape but this one in particular gives you versatility, colour, symbolism and shape.

This heart padlock is in good condition. It closes/opens easily but doesn’t come open whilst wear, I test everything before selling. So works perfectly. It has been cleaned and polished.
