Antique 800 Silver Niello and Rose gold plated Albert with dog clip and bolt clasp

Insane! A niello chain has been on my wish list whilst out sourcing for a while now and they are hard to find in reasonable condition. This one though although not perfect is in great condition. What’s so fabulous about niello, well the colour firstly those black lines are just so gothically cool. As is common for these chains it is paired with rose gold plated links. This one is extra special though for two reasons one the gorgeous dog clip and bolt clasp combo which are both decorated with niello and secondly the addition of a rose gold plated texture links on top of the long curb sections of the chain, it’s divine and something I haven’t seen before. She’ll be great in a mixed metal stack combining both colours. 

Niello is made by engraving patterns (this case stripes) into the silver and filling with a paste made from copper, silver and lead this was then fired to fuse it to the silver. Amazing!

Measures- 14.75inches x 4.7mm wide

This chain is in good condition, there is some wear here and there to the niello and gold plating but it’s not noticeable. It has been delicately cleaned and polished.
